Now living the good life in a loving family!

Miss Heddi's Story: Heddi was rescued from a local shelter in Taiwan. Hedy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She had skin issues when we got her and we believe that she has food allergies. Heddi is on new food and medicine to make her more comfortable. She is improving nicely.

July update: A loving family, seeking to enrich their life with the devotion and love that Heddi is yearning to share. With her sweet face and calm temperament, Hedy steals hearts with her first introduction. She is a perfect companion. She relishes life with her Foster family including a Golden brother. Heddi is smart and readily adapts to routines. She makes no mistakes in the house. Her sweet "sugar-coated" face reflects her love of life and experiences encountered. Heddi can be curious and playful and mellow and quiet. Heddi loves people, respects other dogs and enjoys the attention of kids of all ages. Like every Golden, Heddi looks forward to her daily exercise routine. Participating in the busy lifestyle of a family such as attending outdoor sporting events, picnics in the park or on a beach or just relaxing in a courtyard over lunch and finally a cuddle on the couch at the end of the day would be a rewarding life for Hedy who has never, during her life in Taiwan, had the pleasure of these experiences. Now busy cuddling up to her new family!

Erin's Story: Erin was found as a stray. She is a very young girl. We think she may be only 2~3 years old. It’s very rare that owners abandon young goldens on the streets in Taiwan. Erin is a small sized golden. She gets nervous easily especially when there are loud noises. It takes her sometime to warm up and get familiar with the surroundings. She will start showing her personality when she feels comfortable

Erin loves her human companions a lot. She is always happy and playful. She gets along with dogs well, too. Since Erin is only 2~3 years old she still acts like a puppy. We think she will be a great dog after she takes some training classes. Erin is spayed, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Karen's Story: Karen was from owner surrender. She looked very upset in the first few weeks after she came to the rescue. She always stayed in the corner alone. We guess she probably missed her owner a lot. It takes Karen some time to get used of the new surroundings. Now she looks happy and starts playing with other dogs. She is still a little overweight and will need to lose few pounds in the following weeks

Karen is a very sweet and affectionate girl. She loves her human companions a lot. She is a little timid in the beginning and gets frightened easily. Karen gets along with dogs well. She doesn’t play with them often though. Karen is spayed, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped

Now growing up to be a superstar in a loving family!

Snoopy's Story: Snoopy was found tied next to a tree on a roadside. There was a bag of dog food and a note with him. It’s said that the owner is going aboard and no longer has time to take care of Snoopy. A volunteer reported this situation to us and we rushed to rescue Snoopy. There was a mark around his mouth. It seems that Snoopy used to have a muzzle. We guess it’s probably because Snoopy is still a puppy and he barks a lot or chews a lot. That’s the only way the owner can ask him to shut up.

Snoopy was very skinny when we picked him up. He had diarrhea when we fed him with dry food. He ate it very fast without chewing. Therefore, we try slow feeding bowl to correct him. Now, he has made some progress. Snoopy has food aggression toward dogs and people. We had a trainer to teach him now. Snoopy is very smart. He picks up commands quickly. As long as he continues the training, he will learn to behave well soon.

Snoopy is a happy and active boy. He is just like other puppies and has lots of energy. Snoopy gets along with dogs well. He likes to play with them as long as there is no food involved. Snoopy also likes to stay with his human companions a lot. He is a good dog who is full of potential. We hope he can find a experienced owner who can show him how to be a well-behaved dog. Snoopy is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

He could only stay in limited space and didn’t eat regularly. Golden was very skinny and lost lots of hair when we rescued him. He seems to be very depressed because he was ignored. Therefore, he bit himself a lot. That’s why he lost hair.

We try to comfort Golden and let him feel loved after he came to the rescue. Now he looks better and his hair starts growing out again. Golden is a happy and active boy. He loves to cuddle with his human companions. He always greets people with his waggling tail and big smile. Golden gets along with dogs well. He doesn’t play with them often. Now the king of the castle in a loving family!

Allen's Story: Allen is a 10 year old gentleman who has decided to be selfish and wants a family of his very own and would like to be the only dog. He feels that at his age he should get all the attention he possibly can. When Allen's hair grows out he will be a stunning stud muffin. He is a neutered boy.He loves to be brushed and get loved on. If you could look deep into your heart and find a place for this wonderful soul, he would make you and him happy.....

Allen was first rescued in 2011. We adopted him out in 2012. The owner kept him for about 5 years. However, Allen was lost and found four times over the past two years. We think the owner didn’t take good care of Allen. Therefore, we asked the owner to bring Allen back to the rescue.

Allen is about 9~10 years old now. Even though he is a senior dog, he still has lots of energy. Allen is a very sweet and affectionate boy. He loves his human companions a lot. He also gets along with dogs well. However, he prefers staying alone and taking a nap on the corner most of the time. We really hope Allen can find a good home where he gets the attention he deserves. Allen is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Now a star in a loving family!

Asa's Story: Asa was from owner surrender. He used to be chained and lived near a busy street. There were cars and motorcycles driving fast. He was hit on his left hind leg once. The owner refused to take him to the vet. The accident made Asa’s leg crippled when he walks. There was also a huge tumor hanging out of his chest. The owner neglected it and left Asa to die. Some people couldn’t see Asa live in that horrible place and reported his situation to us. We tried to persuade the owner to surrender Asa, but couldn’t succeed in the beginning. It takes about a year that the owner finally agreed to give Asa away. We sent him to the vet immediately after Asa was rescued. He was very skinny and had anemia.

After gaining enough weight, Asa had a surgery to remove the tumor hanging out of his chest. It was a mast cell tumor. The vet thinks there is little possibility for the tumor to come back as long as it’s cleaned thoroughly. Asa’s left leg doesn’t need any medical treatment because it’s healed by itself already. Asa can walk and run without problem.

Asa is a very sweet and affectionate boy. He likes to stay with his human companions and is very obedient as well. He gets along with dogs well most of the time. However, he may accidently irritate other dogs when they pick up fights. Usually we just need to yell at him and ask him to stop. He will listens to commands. Asa is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Now the queen in residence in a loving family!

Delia's Story: Delia was found as a stray. She was very skinny and had anemia when rescued. There was a lump on her right front leg and it broke already. We sent her to the vet for a urgent surgery to remove it. Luckily, it was only a tissue with inflammation. It wasn’t something malignant. She probably had a wound on her leg and it caused infection without any treatment before. Now Delia is back to health and is ready for adoption.

Delia is a very sweet and affectionate girl. She loves her human companions a lot. Most of the time, she stays quietly next to her people and waits patiently when they have time to play with her. Delia gets along with dogs well. She plays with them sometimes. Delia has a great temperament. She will be a great dog for homes with seniors or kids. Delia is spayed, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Now,king of the hill in a loving family!

Ira's Story: Ira was rescued from the streets. He was very skinny and was heartworm positive when rescued. We started his treatment after he gained enough weight. Now he is clear on heartworm disease. However, his PCR showed that he was Haemobartonella canis positive on June 14. Therefore, he was on medication for six weeks. Now he already finished his treatment and is a healthy boy

Ira is an active and playful boy. He stays alert when he meets strangers. As long as he knows people well, he becomes very obedient. Moreover, he doesn’t like someone to pull his leg. He may show his teeth for a warning, hut he never bites people. We think Ira needs an experienced owner to show the way to follow. For safety concern, it’s better that Ira goes to a home without kids.

Ira is OK with dogs. He doesn’t play with them often. Most of the time, he prefers being a leader of the group. He doesn’t pick up fights. However, he is obsessive about his food and toys. We think he may change after some training. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced owner to show Ira how to be well-mannered. It may take some time to build up trust between Ira and his new owner. We believed Ira can be trained to be a good dog in the future. Ira is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Happily integrating into a loving family!

Max's Story: Max was rescued from a puppy mill. He used to stay in the kennel since he was born. He was not socialized at all and was very scared when we rescued him. We have a trainer to help Max and it takes him couple weeks to be familiar with people and dogs. Max is doing better now. However, we will suggest to take it slowly when introducing him to a new place and new dogs

Since Max is only two and half years old. He is still very active and playful. He gets along with dogs well and enjoys playing with them. He is also very obedient. However, he is not completely housebroken. He knows to go potty outside. However, he still has accidents in the house sometimes. We hope he can find an experienced owner who knows the breed well. We believe that Max will be a good dog after some training. Max is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped

She is happy and healthy enough to be ready for her new home.

Ruth gets along with dogs well. She doesn’t play with them often because she is a little timid in the beginning. It takes her some time to show her personality. As long as she feels comfortable, she is very sweet and affectionate. Ruth has a very good temperament. She always walks away when there is a fight. Ruth loves to stay with her human companions. Now getting comfy on the couch in a loving family!

Ivy's Story: Ivy was found as a stray in the wild. A tourist happened to spot her when she was leaving. She couldn’t take Ivy down the mountain, so she reported her location to us. One of our volunteer rushed to search for Ivy and found her near a waterfall on a rainy midnight. Ivy was starved and thirsty. She finished the food so fast and couldn’t stop drinking from rain puddles on the ground when rescued. We have no idea why she was left alone in the wild. There is no way she could have found the way there by herself. She must have been wandering in that area for a while before she was spotted. We are so relieved that we found her in time. Otherwise, she may be starved to death up in the mountain.

Ivy gets along with dogs well. She plays with them sometimes. However, she has food aggression and doesn’t allow any dogs to get her food when she is eating. Therefore, we will suggest to feed her separately. Ivy is a sweet and affectionate girl. She loves her human companions a lot. She always greets people with her big smile and waggling tail. We hope Ivy can find a home where she can be loved and well taken care of. Ivy is spayed, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
