Gender: Female

Dogs? Gets along ok with dogs

Cats? Ignores them

Now riding high in a loving family

Pony's Story: Pony was found in a drain pipe. She was not able to get out by herself when she was spotted. Thanks to the college students nearby, they pulled Pony out and contacted us for help. Pony was bleeding when rescued. We thought she was in heat. After taking her to the vet, we found out that she was pregnant and having a miscarriage. She had emergency surgery and stayed in hospital for a while.

Pony is a timid and mellow girl. She is very friendly to people. However, she needs to build up more confidence. She gets along with dogs well. Although she doesn’t play with them often, she never picks up fight except for food. She is obedient to people and always waits patiently to be petted. Since Pony had a rough life before she was rescued, we hope she can find her family and be loved for all her life. Pony is spayed, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Nydia is a sweet and affectionate girl. She is very friendly to kids and loves to stay with her human companions all the time. She is very obedient to people. However, she is naughty sometimes. She can jump high and over the fence. A 4-feet high fence is an easy leap to freedom for her. Nydia gets along with dogs well. She is very playful and is always a happy girl. Nydia is spayed, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Happily cuddling up to her new family.

Lucky's Story: Lucky used to have an owner. However, her owner didn’t let her stay in the house. Therefore, Lucky had to find shade from the hot sun where she could. She had severe skin issue when we rescued her. Her coat was matted and she smelled. After taking her to the vet, she was in OK condition except she had a low T4. It takes Lucky a while to have her new coat back. Now she looks great. However, the hair under her neck can’t grow back any more because she used to scratch it a lot and the hair follicle is damaged. She looks fabulous in scarves!

Lucky is a very sweet and affectionate girl. She loves to stay around people and has a great temperament. She gets along with dogs well and loves to play with them a lot. We would like Lucky to have her own family and she can enjoy indoor living as well. Lucky is spayed, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Gender: Male

Dogs? Gets along very well with dogs

Cats? Ignores them

Now an upstanding citizen and important family membber.

Armstrong's Story: Armstrong was found abandoned in the streets in Taiwan. He was very weak and skinny when we found him. He could barely stand and had severe skin issues. We had no idea how long he had been starved. He ate super fast when we fed him his first meal after rescue. It’s hard to imagine the life he had been through over the past weeks or months. Now, he has gained weight. Armstrong has a very good appetite.

Armstrong is a very sweet and affectionate boy. He was a little timid and had no confidence at all in the beginning. He probably thinks that this is all a dream! Now he adapts very well. He loves his human companions a lot and enjoys staying with them all the time. Armstrong gets along with dogs well. He likes to play with them. However, they sometimes play too hard and end up in a fight. We really hope that Armstrong can find a home to call his own. He used to be abandoned and starved. Now it’s time for this boy to have a brand new life. Armstrong is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped

Lance

Age: 8-9 years

Gender: Male

Dogs? Gets along ok with dogs

Cats? Ignores them

Now enjoying a pampered life with his loving family.

Lance's Story: Lance was rescued from a local shelter in Taiwan. According to the staff, he was abandoned by his owner. Lance was overweight when we picked him up. His coat was matted and he also had skin infection. We have no choice but to shave him. After taking him to the vet, all his blood test results were fine. All he had to do, was to lose a few pounds.

Lance is a happy and active boy. He gets very excited and pulls the leash hard on walks. He needs some obedience training. Lance loves to stay with his human companions. He always greets people with his big smile. He stays calm and quiet when you are busy.

Lance gets along with dogs well. He doesn’t plays with them often. Instead, he prefers sleeping alone in the corner. He doesn’t pick up fight and always walks away to get himself in trouble. Lance is a great dog. We can’t believe his owner dumped him in the shelter just because he was overweight. Now Lance is ready for his new home. He will be very happy if he can be loved again. Lance is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Olivia

Age: 5-6 years

Gender: Female

Dogs? OK

Cats? OK

Now getting ready to enjoy summer with her new family.

Olivia's Story: Olivia was found as a stray on the streets. She was rescued and adopted out once. Sadly, her owner has no idea how to take care of a big dog. She got sick and had to see the vet often. Her owner could not afford the bills and surrendered Olivia to rescue.

Olivia stayed in hospital for a week after we rescued her. She looked fine except that she sometimes tilted her head to one side. We took her to a specialist for a further check. He suspected that Olivia may have injured her head when she was little. There was no sign that there is anything wrong with the nerve. After a CT examination weeks later, the vet said Olivia had severe ear infection and it was the reason why she couldn't keep her head straight because she felt uncomfortable. Now Olivia is under treatment with antibiotics. There is no need to have her ear canal removed because the infection is under control.

Olivia likes to chew things. She had an incident when she ate a plastic bag and we needed to rush her to emergency. Therefore, we would like Olivia’s new owner to be vigilant about this.

Olivia is a sweet and active girl. She loves to stay with her human companions all the time. She is very obedient as well. Basically, she knows the commands, such as “sit”, “shake hand” and “lie down”. She may have been abused before because she shows fear when we speak loudly to her. We guess that’s maybe the reason why her head is tilting. They may have used something hard to hit her head when training her.

Olivia has been through a hard time getting along with dogs during the first few weeks after she was rescued. She doesn’t like dogs to bother her and may chase them away. We try to train her and she has changed a lot. Now she can play with dogs all day and is friendlier to new doggy friends day by day. We think she probably feels stressed when she is not familiar with the surroundings. Olivia is a girl who needs more love and attention. She may need some training, but we believe she will be a great dog eventually. Olivia is spayed, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Now happily settled with her daughter Coco in a loving family.

ChaoChao's Story: King, ChaoChao, and CoCo are a family. King is the father. The owner had him from a puppy. ChaoChao is the mother. She was rescued by her owner when she was 2~3 years old. She wasn’t spayed and had a litter of puppies later. The owner adopted out all the puppies except CoCo, the daughter.

The owner didn’t provide these three dogs a proper place to stay. There was no shade at all. These 3 dogs were reported by neighbors to animal control. We also got a message asking for help a year ago and tried to persuade the owner to surrender these 3 dogs. Finally, the owner agreed to give away these dogs this February. We were able to rescue King, ChaoChao and CoCo.

Luckily, these 3 dogs are in fair condition except they are all overweight. King is already 15 years old and has bad hips. It makes it hard for him to walk or run smoothly. We are currently helping him lose weight and increase the time of exercise to strengthen his muscles. He also gets hip supplements daily to maintain his mobility. He is too old to make the trip across to the US. We are heartbroken to have to separate him from ChaoChao and CoCo.

ChaoChao, the mother, is a very sweet girl. She is very affectionate and loves to stay around her human companions. She may have a little separation anxiety when she is left alone. However, she is reassured with CoCo around.

ChaoChao gets along with dogs well. However, she doesn’t play with them often. She loves to play with her daughter most of the time. ChaoChao is 13 years old already and she is overweight and needs to shed a few pounds. She is is spayed, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

We are looking to place ChaoChao and Coco together if possible.
