A majority of True Love Rescue adoptions are typically adoptive families in Northern California. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers but we also consider families in other parts of the West Coast, Nevada & Arizona. After the dogs arrive in the United States traveling 20+ hours for 6700 miles, we do not fly them again! Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the dog's background and your family's needs. Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.
We appreciate you wanting to bring a dog into your home. In order for us to find the right pet for you, we need you to submit an adoption application. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be to match your family with the perfect dog.
We will review your application upon receipt. If we have any questions or concerns, we will contact you for clarity. Since we are a 100% volunteer run organization, this could take up to a month depending on the volunteer's availability. Most of us have day jobs and dedicate our free time for the dogs. So, we ask for your patience!
Once your application review is complete, a True Love Rescue volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit or virtual home visit and discuss all-things dog. During the home visit, we look for potential hazards for the dog that the adopter may not have considered. All household members must be present during the home visit. This includes all pets.
After a volunteer has contacted you, answered your questions and done a home visit, if your application is approved, you'll receive information on contacting the adoption coordinator. The adoption coordinator will have the most current information on the available dogs as well as information regarding their temperament, health etc. and will be able to match you with a suitable dog if they are available. Please also be proactive in the search for your dog. Watch our Facebook Page and the website for arriving or available dogs.
