Kavalan was abandoned by his owner in a local shelter. We sent him to the hospital for a health checkup right after we picked him up. The good news is that Kavalan is a healthy boy except some hot spots. We noticed that Kavalan was very anxious and kept barking all the way when we drove him to the vet. We guess he might be worried about being dumped again. We have tried to relieve his anxiety by taking him to an adoption fair every week, where Kavalan seems to calm down a little bit. However, he prefers having someone sit next to him and comfort him during a car ride.
Kavalan is a sweet and affectionate boy. As a senior dog, he is always calm and gentle. He gets along with dogs very well. He also loves swimming and playing ball. One thing we need his family to pay attention is about his fear of thunderstorms and fireworks. Kavalan would show anxiety and want to find shelter when he hears loud noises. We hope he can feel less stressed out with the company and love of his family.
Kavalan is neutered, chipped and up to date on vaccines. He is 57 lbs.
