Kayla is an owner surrender. Over the weekend she got a cable wrapped around her back leg. Nobody found out until Monday, and by then the cable had cut off the circulation in her leg, and the nerves in the back leg had died. Her owner did not have the money to pay for medical care, so she was signed over to TLRescue. Kayla went to the vet for an amputation of her back left leg, which was damaged beyond repair. They found that the cable was also around her waist, hidden in the hair. The wounds on her body and leg had progressed to gangrene. The vet had to shave half her body to disinfect her before closing the open wounds.
She is now warm and snuggled at a foster, and is already making progress. She loves people, toys, and water.
