Peggy was surrendered by her owner. Her owner got divorced and had no time for dogs. Peggy was chained in front of the house all day. A lady was worried and reported Peggy’s situation to our rescue. We tried to communicate with the owner and finally persuaded her to surrender Peggy.
Since Peggy was chained outside the house, she has skin issues due to the hot and humid climate in Taiwan. According to the vet, Peggy has Atopic dermatitis. She has been treated with Cytopoint. https://www.cytopoint.com/about-cytopoint We also provide her supplements such as omega 3 fatty acids to mitigate itch and manage skin inflammation. Peggy also had an ear infection when rescued. She has been treated with Otomax and has improved a lot. We hope she can continue her treatment until it’s fully cured.
Peggy is a sweet girl. She is a little timid and may get anxious when she is in unfamiliar surroundings. It will take her some time to get relaxed. As long as she feels safe, she will start showing her personality.
Peggy enjoys staying around people. She is always gentle and calm. Peggy also gets along with dogs well, and will walk away when dogs show aggression toward her. She has no bad barking or chewing habits, no food or toy aggression, and she knows some basic commands. She does need some work on housebreaking and on walking on leash.
We would like to find a forever home for this shy girl because she was never loved by her owner before. Peggy is spayed, chipped and up to date on vaccines.
