Miss Taffy was adopted from Craigslist. The new family lived in a safe, high-end neighborhood and promised to care for Taffy and get her spayed. Then they turned her out into the street the same night when they decided she was not a good fit for their family.
Taffy made it to a house down the street, and Animal Control was called to scan her for a microchip. All animal control could offer was to scan her chip. The shelters are full and they were not willing to intake dogs any more. Her original family was devastated to learn she had been abandoned.
We received the call for help at 1 a.m. Thanks to dedicated rescuers, Taffy made it safely into our care the next morning.
Rehoming pets through Facebook or Craigslist carries serious risks, and Taffy is one of many dogs who paid the price. Her story is a reminder: when rehoming is unavoidable, involving a rescue can mean the difference between safety and the street!
This girl will be spayed, and her shots will be up to date. She’s 3yo. She is terrified of fireworks, so will need a loving, patient family to make her feel safe again.
